Default wheel choices CD5

Hey guys, just joined this forum, been browsing here 4 a while, great site, great members!

My question is regarding wheel choices:
I'm looking 4 a nice set of 17x7s 4 a CD5, love the Enkeis, especially the j10s & gtc01s. After checking the Enkei site, they seem 2 have what I want in terms of PCD but the offset is not exactly right. +45 or +35 I think when the correct offset is +46 4 the Accord.

Firstly, will this slight difference matter? Will they fit &/or look strange? Can u get spacers 2 make them fit perfectly?

I don't want them 2 stick out (hate that look) Anybody have either of these wheels fitted 2 their CD5? Pics would b great!!

I like the idea of the replacement wheels being lighter than standard, or @ least no heavier. I figure lighter wheels would have a similar effect 2 lightening the flywheel & should also slightly improve braking with less rotational mass, or am I barking up the wrong tree with that theory?

Thanks in advance 4 sharing ur precious wisdom, much appreciated.

45mm offset, when 46mm is called for.... you won't even be able to see that difference.

Now 35mm when you want 46mm, that will make the wheels stick out further, by 11mm so maybe you can visualize that.

Spacers will only make them stick out FARTHER.

You're right about lighter wheels having a similar effect to lighter flywheel. It's just a weaker effect, because the flywheel is higher RPM.

Lighter wheels get more & more expensive, for example forged instead of cast. If they're very lightweight and inexpensive, then you should be suspicious that they're weak (easy to bend). Having said that, Enkei is a well-established company & they make many of Honda's factory wheels (daughter's 2007 Civic factory wheels are made by them).

I'm gonna move this to the WHEEL&TIRE area.

Cool, got it, thx Jim. It's handy 2 know that lower offset pushes the position outwards too.

I agree Enkei is a reputable company, quality & innovation, plus tasty visuals. Unfortunately I seem 2 b a little limited with my choice of styles. The 4 x 114.3 PCD is pretty rare 4 17s, even rarer 4 18s. I've heard of people getting new threads put in 2 change their pcd but that seems a bit excessive. I guess I'll just have 2 forget the gtc01 & keep researching.

Thanks 4 moving the post, I realized my error shortly after posting. Newbstyle. Cheers
