I took out the entire interior down to the metal, and installed two 50' rolls of Raammat sound deadening material and closed-cell foam to all surfaces; hard-wired my Escort X-50 with the "Smart Switch" modded into a blank factory knock-out on the dash, and put it where the rear defroster switch was. Defroster switch moved to console; I modified a 1965 GTO white "cue ball" shift knob to fit on the 10x1.5mm shifter thread, and made an adapter from 1" schedule 40 plastic pipe and a big spring to hold the shift boot against the knob. I pulled out the ashtray and my Magellan GPS fits perfectly in the little cubby, and it is hardwired into the dash as well. I have the carpeting on the load floor and rear seat backs pulled out, and am working on a design for a real oak floor that won't add too much weight. I also installed a Type R grille, but may put the stock one back on.
