2009 or 2010 Honda Accord advice
I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I hope my questions are not off topic, as I thought this forum would be the place to get good advice.
Currently I have a 1992 Lexus ES 300 that is on its last legs. With the "Cash for Clunkers" program running at least to the beginning of September, I am seriously thinking of purchasing a Honda Accord in the next two weeks and I have a number of thoughts and questions in no particular order.
1. It appears like the 2010 Accord is not out yet, but I was told the changes are minimal from 2009. Does anyone know when the 2010's will be available? Is it correct that the changes are minimal. I am trying to evaluate if it's better to get an 2009 now with the Cash for Clunkers program running and save $3,500 or pass on the program and wait for the 2010's.
2. I am only putting on approximately 9,000 miles per year and about 75% of that is city miles. The engine on my ES 300 is 3.0 liter V6 with 185 horsepower. From what I can tell, the 2009 comes with a 177 or 190 horsepower 2.4 liter 4 cylinder or a 271 horsepower 3.5 liter V6. If I look at horsepower alone, the 4 cylinder matches up to my current car. However, since it is a 2.4 liter instead of a 3.0 liter, I *guess* the engine is smaller. I will definitely want automatic transmission. Based on this and the Accord itself, do you suggest the 4 or 6 cylinder?
3. In connection with point 2, I know I will want leather and some options. Does this automatically put me in an EX V6 or is it possible (and advisable) to get an LX with leather?
4. Can anyone suggest a good web site where I can get a price range on how much I should pay for an Accord.
Any other advice would certainly be appreciated as purchasing a car is very foreign to me.

I Just bought my new 2009 honda accord EX 4cyl, and i absolutly enjoy it. There's going to be very minimal changes with the 2009 and 2010, I do know that Honda is introducing the Accord Crosstour soon for the 2010. And In my opinion, I would honestly just go with a 2009 accord EX-L V6 if you really want leather, im not to much of a leather guy, i got cloth, haha. Knowing that there is minimal change with the 2009 and 2010 models its better you get one now while the cash for clunkers is still in effect, and might want to consider waiting untill november or december, Car Dealerships like to get rid of their later year cars so they can bring in the new models. In that case you would get a better deal with a 2009 with the options you want. And for the engine size, I'm fine with the 4cyl, good acceleration, decent gas mileage, but knowing its a 4cyl, its lacking the umph of a 6cyl of course. Its all up to you, if gas is a issue 4cyl, no issue with gas, go BIG! 6cyl all the way! haha! And for prices i would go to the nearest honda dealership near your location, they can give you a better price estimate rather than a website, because dealerships will add extra charges. lol! good luck and I hope this info has helped!

There was a $1500.00 dealer incentive that ended on Sep. 8 but I saw it had started again for September on a link somewhere. I just bought a 2009 LX-P for $21,600 on Tuesday. But I am not happy with the car. Been a Honda owner (love them) since 1980 but after the 50 mile ride home from the dealer I got to experience the noise and comfort level along with some other issues and I am not happy. I could be more picky then others. In the past every Honda I bought felt much better then the last. Not his time for me. See my thread for details.> "Pro and Cons of the 2009 Accord LX-P For Me" It will probably upset some members.
