1996 accord f22b2 to f22b1 vtec problems help
i just did a head swap from a non vtec f22b2 to the f22b1 vtec the problem is bogging down around 5k rpms throwing a code on the new computer for bank 1 sensor one heater but when i have the non vtec ecu in there is no code for that and also the vtec does not kick it and help is appreciated
the ecu is from a 1996 accord ex

The problem w/ modifications is lack of anyone w/ experience w/ your particular problem.
I would suggest returning to your non-VTEC ECU for this vehicle. This will disable the VTEC function, but should fix the code problem and rev-limit (ECU is probably operating in Limp-Home mode).
good luck

That is an odd problem. Nothing jumps out at me, but I can try to give some suggestions.
I'm guessing that you properly wired the VTEC up to the new ECU?
If you purchased the EX ECU from a junk yard, try another one from a 96/97 EX.
Since the error is with the O2 sensor, check that the pins in the connector are clean and the connection is tight.
Also, check for any exhaust leaks. Maybe check the timing, since you put a new timing belt on? Would you need an EX distributor with the EX cylinder head?
I am sure that other people have done this swap, so do some web searching to see if there was something that you forgot to do.
