97 accord f22b2 engine swap too 94 f22b2 wont rev past 3200rpms and starts like crap!
i have a 97 honda accord engine 2.2l non vtec (f22b2) that blew up and i found a 94 2.2l non vtec (f22b2) in a salvage yard. i am using all the 97 electronics such as harness and ECU, i had to switch out the crank case from the 94 and put the 97 on that engine so the only thing on the engine thats 94 is the block and head. Tryed starting it and it wont rev past 3200 rpms and i put a new crank sensor in it after it started doing that and im having the same problem i had it tested and the codes that show are O2 sensor and low input ignition and high input ignition, after installing the new crank sensor it doesnt seem it wants to start up so i have to give it gas to start it, its like its starving for fuel it chugs like a boat when it wants to try to start.
all the sensors seem to be fine.
Thanks

Did you use the sprockets that hold the timing and balance to the crankshaft from the 97 as well?
What are the wire colors going to the map sensor and the TPS? Might as well tell me the IAT sensor too.
Find the injector resistor box (shown below) on the driver's side of the engine bay near the firewall. What wire colors in the electrical connector are going into that part?
I would probably reinstall the original crank sensor. Avoid throwing parts at the car. If there is not code indicating a problem, then don't replace that part.

i did switch out the sprocket on top connected to the head, but the timing and balance wheel is on there from the 97, the old crank sensor had scratches on it and i tested it and said it was a TDC/ Crankshaft position sensor so i put a new one on there and it did the same thing i tested the codes again and that code went away, low input ignition was something that showed up on the OBD2 reader, i will let you know what the colors are soon for the wiring, its the 97 harness i have hooked up to the 94 engine

i used seafoam to clean out the injectors and the gas lines and when i went to rev it up real quick it reved up to 6,000 rpms and i thought it was working so i let off the gas and i went to go rev it up again and it did the same thing went up to 3200 rpms, it sometimes goes to, 3200 3500 and 4000 rpms.
