Default 1996 f22b2 to 96 f22b1 swap

Hello fellas. I have looked all over the site and cant find the answers im looking for. I have swapped a 96 f22b1 to a 96 f22b2 both autos and im having a couple of issues. 1st of all the new setup is running in limp mode with the d4 light blinking. I have tried both ecu and still have the same effect. Also the power steering pump spews power steering fluid from the top like the engine is turning backwards or something. I did notice that the 02 sensors are in different locations and i made a harness and just used the b1 manifold. I there any of you guys done this swap or similar that can shed some light on my situation? I will also mention that I used the engine harness from the B1. The car starts and revs just fine its just stuck in limp mode and the code its throwing is the shift control solenoid but I know that its good due to the fact that it was working fine on the old setup.

the quick answer for the power steering is you have the hoses hooked up backwards?? not sure just a thought,,plz post the actual code not a description of symptoms, so we can better help you sort it out,,,i have a 96 also,,ill be following this one,,good luck,,

1. For the power steering, re-check the hose routing and that no hose was inadvertently crimped/crushed.

2. Which distributor set-up did you use (internal coil or external coil)?

Which PCM (for F22B1 or F22B2) did you use with the distributor coil set-up?

Ok,the code was for the shift control solenoid and im 100 % positive that its good. Never completely removed the powers steering pump.The lines were not taken off. I have tried both ecus,Currently the b1 ecu is in it. I am using the b1 distributor setup with the internal coil but i also have the b2 setup and external coil if needed.

Default 02 sensor

The only thing that i didnt see that was really off was the 02 sensor. I used the b2 manifold and made an extention harness and plugged it in where i thought it would plug in for the b1 which is a plug on the back of the block. Does anyone know if thats the correct plug? You can only get to it from laying under the car and reaching up to get to it.

To me if that was the wrong spot to plug it in it would more than likely throw it to limp mode. Also Its possible that I may have wired my extention harness wrong.

What "shift control solenoid code", obd1 (7 or 8), or obd2?

The obd1 codes 7 and 8 are strictly electrical faults meaning solenoid, connector, wiring, or ECU has electrical fault (short or open). You can have 100% confidence in solenoid and still have this fault.

The sequence of testing the solenoid is 1) test solenoid resistance (12-24 ohms) at solenoid connector, 2) If OK, test resistance again at TCM/Harness connector 3) If resistance again checks good, the TCM is problem.

If resistance fails at the checks, then a wiring, connector, or solenoid winding fault must be isolated.
