Default solenoid readings

I got 27 ohms on both sides of the solenoid. I also connected each leg to the positive side of the battery to check and make sure that it was actually opening and it way.Im not quite sure how to check the harness though.

Best test of harness is same resistance test performed at the connector to the TCM. You will need to trace the wire colors and find them at the connector, or use a Honda shop manual to find the correct pins. My manual shows pins A5 and A3 (A connector pins 3 & 5) w/ wire colors of blu/yel for A5 and grn/wht for A3. Your test would be between pin (A5 or A3 and local ground). That should be how you tested at the solenoid connector.

If you get similar results at the TCM connector, then TCM has internal fault.

If results are open or short, then a fault exists in the harness between the solenoid connector and the TCM connector.

good luck

Everything seems to be checking out fine. When this swap is done what do you recommend doing with the 02 sensor situation? Also is there and extra sensor around the bottom timing belt pulley? Will either of these effect the transmission?

What is "O2 sensor situation". O2 sensors should be similar/same on b1 and b2 engines.

The crankshaft position sensor may have moved to lower timing belt area in 1996. I don't know if both b1 and b2 were same. My emanuals don't address this issue.

good luck

the 02 sensor on the b2 was on the exhaust manifold, the b1 was somewhere around the catalitic converter.

You will need to find an O2 sensor w/ long wiring length (check universal O2 sensors) to reach the connector, or make an harness side extension to reach new location.

good luck

I actually made a harness and plugged in to where i thought the o2 sensor would plug into on the back of the block.Still throwing an o2 code.

Check your wiring. Very easy to get sensor output and input wires crossed. This will set a code.

good luck
