98 Accord Slight Hesitation and Tachometer Drops
Occasionally, I can be going down the highway in my 1998 Honda Accord DX (55-65 mph) and I will get a slight hesitation - sometimes won't happen for days - comes and goes. Just occurs for a second. The tach drops to zero at hesitation and then quickly returns back up to rpm again. The problems is so quick that it does not put any codes into the computer.
I have also had problems in the past where the car dies while driving, and also had problems starting (ie, would turn over but the car wouldn't start, wait 2 minutes and then it starts.) Think these problems were fixed by having the ignition switch replaced. But the problem described above is still occurring.
Dealer has no idea what the real problem is but has offered the following ideas: Could be related to some grounding problem (possible a wire from the computer not grounded correctly) or bad fuel pump, or ignighter or coil.
Don't know how to solve the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

These are fun...the 5th gen (94-97, I don't have a good manual for the 6th gens 98-02) had a blue wire from the ICM (ignitor) to the tach....so that is where I'd start, some places can test them but if this happens every now and then the tests may not show anything. I hate to say this but you might have to wait for the issue to "grow up".
