Default Change water pump along with timing belt?

I just called a local dealer to get an estimate for a timing belt change. I have a 98 Accord EX sedan with 142,000 miles. The belt has never been changed.

The estimate was $650 to change the timing belt, water pump, and all drive belts. The dealer recommened that I change the pump at the same time because it was more cost effective.

Should I change the water pump along with the timing belt even if it's running fine?

Does $650 sound like a reasonable dealer price?

Definately change the water pump at the same time. $650 sounds a little high, call around to different Honda stealerships for prices.

I was gettin estimates around 500.00 to just change the water pump on my 94 Accord, so to me if your getting the timing belt, water pump, and all the drive belts...and it includes all parts and labor...that sounds pretty fair to me.

peace out,
daddy

Definatelly do the water pump,,

Any good dealer will sell it as a timing belt kit, which includes,, t-belt, balancer belt, water pump, coolant, alt belt, p.s belt, valve cover gasket, cam seal, balancer shaft seal, and labor of course ... all for around 550 to 750 dollars, depends where you live ( state--, city ) ..

make sure that the dealer replaces all those parts i mentioned,,
if the extras i mentioned are not included in their quote, they should not charge you any extra labor, hell everything is torn apart already, ..
