Default Dexron III ATF

I've got a seal leaking or a bad half shaft on my 2000 v6.
It's slinging a little ATF on the driver's half shaft. I'm putting it in the shop Monday afternoon and am checking fluid level to make sure it doesn't get too bad. I have some O'Reilly ATF which is a Dexron III substitute. Can I use this stuff in my car or should I stop at a store tomorrow and get the Honda official stuff? Does it even matter? My owners manual says use the Dexron stuff just as a temporary substitute and swap all the fluid out afterward. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It matters; BIG TIME. Whatever you do, do NOT pollute your transmission with Dextron III.

OK. Thanks for the heads up. I may just swing by the dealership tomorrow after work and get the official stuff.
