Default Urgent: Both cigarette lighter sockets not working in Honda Accord 2003

Hello Folks,
I took my car for car wash yesterday, and somehow a penny got inserted into the cigarette lighter socket in the front. Now, both battery/cigarette sockets are not working.

I checked the forums, and checked the fuse no. 32, which is 7.5A, labelled "ACC", but this seems to be fine.

Can someone pls. guide in detail as to how I can fix this? All lights, power lock, indicators etc. seem to be working fine. Just the battery/cigarette sockets are non-functional. Somewhere I read that there might be other fuse which relays power to 32?

I have to make a long trip this coming weekend, and without being able to charge my GPS will be a big pain and hassle for me.

Pls. advise. (It's an honda Accord, 2003, LX Sedan)

Thanks,
Vikas.

Don't quote me, but I THINK there should be a fuse for the cigarette lighter specifically. Obviously a fuse has been blown, just keep looking.

Lightbulb

Get a 12Volt electrical probe tester and stick it in the hole where the lighter goes to see if there's any power..if not..pull out the complete lighter element and see if it's burned up or the wires on the back have been melted...

cost depends on,,,, shop you go to, , city you live in, and how long it take to troubleshoot and repair

chk the fuse and let us know before going to a shop, there are a few other things that could be the cause if fuse is ok..,,

Personally, I hate electrical problems. I always "rewire" anything (car/truck) that I need to work. I run (fused) wire from the battery (through dash???) to whatever. I am an Amateur Radio Operator and the first thing I do is run some heavy gauge wire into the passenger compartment. Ham gear takes a little more power. At a local parts store I found a separate fuse block with multiple outlets, then I put in a Multiple outlet cigarette lighter unit. I am so happy.

If you need to take a trip, there are little 12v batteries you can BUY to run your GPS.

Be sure to come back here and let us know what you found.
