Default 2007 Honda Accord panel piece

Hello everyone, I am knew. Not only to this site, but to Honda. Always bought domestic until now. I hope I am in the right place to get an answer to my question.

After I purchased my 07 Accord, I realized there is a piece missing next to the shifter. I found a picture online and surrounded the part with red.

My question is...what is that hole there? And where do I find a factory piece like it to replace it?

If you pop that out there is a button you can depress to shift out of park with no key in the ignition. It's mainly just for thieves and tow trucks.

EDIT: I'm sorry I misread your post. I would imagine your going to have to call the parts deparement of your local dealership and order it, while your going to get ripped off I can't imagine it being more than $10. Your car was prolly a repo, mine was and didn't have that piece either.

Or go to the junk yard and just pull on off a car, I got one from a friend who was parting out a 7th gen.

wow. Thank you for the info. Do you know where I could get that little panel piece from to replace it? or the name of what it is called so I can buy one.

Thanks again.

Best bet is the parts department at your local dealer, or you could try junk yards. It's so cheap though I would just get it from a dealer.

Here is a link to that exact part. It's illustration number 14
