Default 94 EX window stuck down

All,

Apologies if this is the incorrect forum, it seemed like the right place.

Was driving home tonight and had the drivers window down, went to roll it up and its stuck down. When you hit the switch you can hear the motor engage and it moves up about a sixteenth of an inch and then sounds like it has jammed. The switch doesn't click and the motor doesn't sound like its straining against anything.

I was going to take the door panel off tommorow and spray some silicone spray on the tracks. Anything else I can check? Anyway I can get the window up and lock in place as a temp solution?

Thanks for your time all.

Your symptoms usually mean the regulator has jammed and is damaged. Thiis is not repairable and a replacement regulator will be required.

When I had this happen, I removed the regulator and temporarily jammed a board under the window to close until replacement regulator was obtained.

A download manual from Online Manuals post in DiY forum will provide details of regulator replacement.

good luck

if you can reach the regulator you can pop off a small alu plate and remove a gear and a stopper and wind the window up by hand all the way. replace the gear and stopper and dont roll it down again. I had to do this for both of my back windows not sure if its that easy to reach in the front doors.

Default regulator parts???

what if that plastic white piece that redirects the cable breaks? Have a 92 lx sedan and took a look at the regulator- only problem...

This little part is not replaceable and a new regulator is necessary. I replaced two rear regulators on my daughter's car due to teenagers holding the window and breaking this little plastic cable guide.

Check ebay for new and used replacement or car-part.com for used.

good luck
