Exclamation Accord Touring v6 2016

Hi all, I just bought an accord touring 2016 v6 two months ago.
If while increasing speed I take my foot out of the gas, seems to me that the car decrease speed as like pressiing ligthly the brakes.

Is this behaviour ok?

LKAS off
cruise off

thanks

Welcome to the forum, Josuegd

Yes, the condition you've described is normal for both the V6 and 4cyl 9th generation. We traded a '15 Sport for a '16 EX-L and both cars had that same 'brake' feeling when decelerating.. especially at lower speeds.

It is a form of engine brake delivered via on-board computer designed to improve gas mileage

Default Thanks for the answer

Now I feel conftable with that behaviour, but do not understand how decresing speed will save gas, specially on slopes. I could understand if that behaviour would be a safety thing.

Besides that and a very active airconditioning fan I'm more than happy with my car. It has been my 5th honda and my second Accord.

The behavior is more due to the drive-by-wire throttle control system, and not what was previously posted above.

Thank you, Redbull... that does make more sense

That makes sense to me. Kind of weird to me because my Accord EXL-V6 1998. feels like going smoth by his weight whenever I leave the gas pedal.

I'm getting 12 mpg on city. Is there a way to override?

thanks

Our 2011 (8th generation) was old school smooth also, but like Redbull says, the 'drive-by-wire' on the 9th gen may make a difference.

You're only getting 12 mpg on your '98? Perhaps a tune-up is due (?)

No, The accord touring 2016 is the one giving 12 mpg on non-econ mode on city

The V6 should be getting an overall city mpg of 18 or better depending on driving conditions. Of course a 4 cyl will do more. My EX-L V6 averages 18 to 20 in city and 30-32 on the open road

How are you determining the 12 mpg you stated? The computer takes readings from each time the engine is started and then shut-off. If I start my car and only drive a mile or two, the info center will display 4 to 8mpg... but, if I continue to drive, the actual mpg will climb and the info will be more accurate. Short bursts will display a low mpg... longer drives, better mpg
