is a harness bar required with aftermarket harnesses?
i really want to get a set of racing seats, but the harness bar will make it almost impossible for passengers to get into the rear seats of my car...
is there another way to mount the harness?

Depending on your local state laws if all they require is a lap belt then legally speaking it doesn't matter what you mount the shoulder straps to. In that case just make sure that your lap belt is properly connected and installed in a way that it will still protect you in the event of an accident and then mount the shoulder straps wherever you like!
