ok 12000k might be purplish, 8000k might be more for you if you want blue. you're running the risk of getting pulled over if you're lights are an eye sore(like blinding others) or imitating a police car with the blue. at one point, supposedly, aftermarket hid kits were illegal to sell. i think that was the reason hid kits got so affordable. dunno if that was true or not but its not stopping anyone. get a decent quality kit thats not going to crap out on you.

4300K is pure white, 6000k is whitish-blue, 8000K is blue, 12000K is purple. You need 9006 size bulbs and I highly recommend nothing higher than 6000K. The higher you go past 4300K, the less you can safely contrast between object and your depth perception decreases. Note: this is why yellow fogs are so NIIIICE.

I was also thinking about just getting some halo lights like these in particular:

Anybody have any recommendations or help for that?

I recommend that you get what you like. I had TYC's and they had good a good build and fitment. I've heard that Anzo's are good too, but I've never had them. The ones that you posted look nice in the pic.

dont worry about sounding like a moron. i been here a lil more than a month and new ppl signing up are always asking these same questions. and the same several members, including myself, are answering all these, only to have another noob ask. is this topic stickied or anything for new ppl to read??? there are forums like hidplanet where people can read and understand about hid's. which is beta than , "i wanna get what i see on Acuras, Lexus, BMW, Benz cuz they look cool".

What are you asking here? You want halogen bulbs to be blue? Get coated or high temp bulbs, 6-8000K.

You want blue HID's? Get the 6-8000K range cconversion kit in the size that your fixtures want; 9006 for stock, but if you get the projectors it may be different. My TYC's needed H1's.

The halogens are too blue for you? Get 4800K bulbs.

i think he's asking how headlights put out the color that they do. whether it'd a TSX or a 92 Escort. it would be the bulb.
