Default HELP: Tint for 2003 and up Accords

how's it going?... i would like to know if anyone here who owns a 7th gen accord put on the felt strip in the front side windows... i just got my car tinted last weekend with 5% Formula 1 Classic series tint, but only the rear 3 windows... theshop i went to said i need to put a felt strip on the weather strip for the front windows... they said w/o it the tint would get scratched from dirt and other loose debris...was the dude b/sing me?... or was he serious?... they were charging $50 for both sides just for the felt strip...

is there felt strip i can just add on myself?...

I had mine tinted all the way around, and they didnt mention anything about that. I've never heard that before.

I looked at the tint in my accord this afternoon, and the part that contacts the weather strip on top is a bit...warped maybe? However, it doesnt seem damaged, and in all honesty, it doesnt bother me, as I cant see it, cause its agaisnt the weatherstrip...Even when i look for it, I have to stare to see it.

I had to get the felt strips on mine and I think it is really worth the extra $50 or so to get them done. They just send the strips to an upholstery shop and have them wrap the plastic strips with some felt material......

It's not uncommon. After a while you might notice scratches on the front window tint without the strips. Mine was done before tint shops were aware of this and the tiny scratches are there.

I'm sure by the time your tint starts to get scratched up enough to really notice, your car will be old anyway and you wont really care that much.
