hid retrofit on halos?

RE: hid retrofit on halos?
I have an HID retrofit on my TYC projectors. They work and look great! The thing to look for is what kind of bulb that your halo's use. My projectors use dual H1's where the stocks were 9005/9006. I've also heard that some aftermarket fixtures don't fit the length of the HID bulb, but I didn't have that problem. Good luck with the mods!

thanks the halo's use a h3 low and a h1 high i would maybee keep the highs but the lows i want to convert to some sort of hid projector either from a tsx, or audi, beemer or whatever i can find on ebay with ballasts and ignitors. my only concern is the plastic on the halos looks really cheap. and i don't want to open my oven to find a puddle of plastic.

then i would suggest putting it on 300 degres. it doesnt need to be in there for that long to turn the silcone to a consistancy where its easy to pry off. And by not long i mean 3-4 minutes. i put my stock housings in the oven just last night @ 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes and everything was fine, the plastic was just a little hot, but not to the point where it will start deforming when you touch it. Just a tip, when you do begin to pry the housing appart get an old philips head screwdriver that you dont care about anymore (Or buy a cheap one) to start prying away the front from the back. Be gentle and dont pull away at an angle, you can break the inside of the housing. Try and pull in an even motion, constantly turn the light so it seperates evenly. Take your time too, you can always put the light back in the oven. All of this sounds easy but its going to take a little bit of muscle and alot of patience.
Edit: Also put the housing on the largest cookie sheet covered in tinfoil. you dont need the light to cook, just to loosen up the silicone rubber
