It's a relay harness. Basically, it uses the headlight switch to close the circuit on the relay and draws all the powers through the harness from the battery, rather than drawing all the power through the existing headlight bulb wiring. Puts less strain on the electrical system, people claim it reduces wear and tear over time.

regarding color such as 12000k is the visibility going to diminish greatly?
also will the DDM kits fit into my oem headlights without a problem?

yes they will fit fine if you order the correct sized bulb.
12000k is fine if you like the color, but 6000k will give the best light output.

ddm offers 5000k and 4500k these will give the best light output.

well i guess my real concern is the noticeable difference in going from silverstar ultras to 10000K's or 12000L's

eh you're probably right but any of them will be better than 12000 imo. i just think the purplish color is tacky.

to the op, 55 watt ones will be ridiculously bright and you may get pulled over. stick with the 35 and save the 55 for high beams or fogs

Your visibility will greatly diminish. Its not that its not as bright, its the fact that as light gets more blue, your eye has a harder time processing it. Even 6000K has less visibility than halogens. Function over form buddy and you probably will get harassed by the police more if your go bluer or brighter
