Default Is that for Navi or XM?

I've seen some newer Accords with a little antenna thing above the back glass. Is this for navigation or XM or what? I just installed my XM and am wanting to keep everything hidden. My radio is in the cubby which is hidden when closed. I'm wanting to find one and gut it (if neccessary) and cover my XM's antenna with it. I'm also thinking of the BMW-style 'shark fin', but they're kinda co$tly.

Are you talking about that little raised box-shaped bump that can be seen in this pic?

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure its for XM because I have XM and not navi and I have that same thing on my car.

I'm pretty sure it also house the regular AM/FM radio antenna. My grandparents 2004 has it and they don't have XM or Navi.

I believe it is the regular antenna as stated above. I have that (although it is more shaped like an arrow now instead of a block) and I do not have nav.

The AM/FM antenna is supposed to be integrated into the rear window.

The blocky antenna on the roof should be for XM.

That doesn't explain why Finch's grandparents would have one a car without XM, though.

Thats exactly what I was going to say lastnight but I couldn't get logged in for some reason.

From what I've heard, the FM/AM antenna is the upper 10-20% of the lines on the back glass.

So I don't know what that is. I've heard of 'satelite ready' accords. Could this be what finch's grandparents have?

Could be. They might be built SatNav/XM ready because plenty of people change their minds a few months after buying their car and decide to get it. Would be a lot easier just to build them read than wire them at a later date, think of how expensive labor would be to the customer, no one would ever buy it.

And yes, Honda relocated the antennas to the window in the 6th gens, you can clearly see the top 3 - 5 lines belong to a different circuit than the rest of the window.
