Default Plastidip the entire car.

So a good portion of the clear coat has peeled and this car has an ugly finish on the outside. Covered in both light and heavy scratches.

So I'm thinking about buying 20 cans of black plastidip and trying to make this red Accord 1993 into a stealth / wanna-be murdered out black color.

Has anyone ever tried this or is it too stupid for anyone to have tried it? I'm going to need about 20 cans and a hell of a lot of masking tape. I'm planning on leaving this on permanently because well, the car looks like crap as it is.

Maybe I'll take before and after pictures.

I've seen it done before and it isn't all that bad. It would be very interesting to see this done. I say go for it if you're serious about it, it would be a cool experiment!

Edit: Found this, has a few pictures of cars that have been completely plasti dipped http://www.allsentra.com/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=3491

Plastidipped my car. - DSM Forums

Take a look at that car. Looks sleek and stealth, I like the matte look.

I don't think it's all that crazy, I think I'll go for it. Only problem now is how I'm going to buy it for a good price. Maybe I can get some savings for buying it in bulk. I might also sand off the rusted portions and cover it with this stuff since it's almost like spray paint but not really spray paint. :-|

You can get spray cans at the local Sears here for around $7 each, so it shouldn't set you back too much. The matte look is pretty great, I'm definitely going to get a can of this and have some fun. Definitely going to black out the chrome and the emblems and try all sorts of stuff with it since it just peels right off. Possibly also try the rims just to see how it looks. This stuff could be a lot of fun.
