Question about Projector Headlights
Are the 80 dollar projector headlights off ebay the same as the ones you see on other websites for like 300 bucks? Anyone purchased projector headlights off ebay? Thanks

RE: Question about Projector Headlights
I've been hearing from people that $80 ebay projectors have very low light output...
I think the TYC projector has the best light output, but even that is bad compared to OEM.
Do you have links to the $300 ones?... If they are retro's, they most likely have good output...
and retro's have very good cutoff as well, compared to ebay ones.
if they're just overpriced ebay projectors... then stay away from them, unless you don't care about driving like a blind man at night.
I'm not sure about the non-projector ebay headlights though...
I made a thread about that, but no one knows about the light output on those either, I guess.
Hope that helps.

RE: Question about Projector Headlights
That's alright man... I don't really know that much about cars either...
But I learn some interesting stuff by reading threads...
I also learned that searching is your best friend.
In other forums, they'd tell you to search for stuff you want to know first before asking,
which makes sense because more likely than not, they've been already discussed.
Anyways, they have low output because of how the inside of the headlights are.
Their projector part, I THINK is a little too restrictive, and also messes up the light pattern... I guess it depends on the materials used. Not sure though.
And brighter bulbs... are not really that much brighter IMO...
I got some Xenon bulbs off of ebay (CLICK HERE)... I'd say they are just a little brighter than what I had before...
But I like it because it's blue-ish white light... not yellow-ish like what the car came with.
You could get HID (CLICK HERE), which is a totally different setup than the bulbs we have... (9006 i think?)
Though, I'm not sure how the light output would be with that in an Ebay projector.
If you really want some bright lights... I'd say get HID setup... with Retro fit projectors...
...If you got some $$$ to burn... and try not to just get HID without having the headlights made for HID.
If you just stuff HID in your stock headlight, you'll have alot of glare which will blind on coming traffic...
and **** the heck out of the cars infront of you... just hope it's not a cop.
Also if you do decide to get HID... make sure it's not illegal in your state.
I think it's illegal in Cali, but they don't enforce it that much.
