speedo wont work

Default speedo wont work

hi, folks.. newbie here with a problem. 96 accord lx 4dr. speedo got an attitude problem where it works either when it wants to or at 70 mph on the interstate. how can i fix it?

welcome, does your cruise control still works? if it does,it could be your speedometer gauge might be messep up.either you get a new speedo assembly or if there is a shop that repairs speedo then check them out. if your cruise control does not work,you probably need a new VSS vehicle speed sensor. i had the same issue with my car. i replaced my instrument panel and luckily the odometer with the replacement i got from a honda/acura salvage shop was only 10 miles off, lucky i say. i used to use my RPM gauge to know how fast i was going. i take a note when my speedo works then i compare it to my RPM. i got used to it for a while even after i had it replaced.goodluck and i hope u get it fixed.

where do I locate the coil? i'm just getting the hang of figuring out my car's functions.
