Ok so im new to the whole honda thing and had a simple question. i have a 96 accord vtec and i want to paint the valve cover so i need to take it off but i was wondering before i take it off is there anything that i need to be aware of before i take it off. like issues getting it back on and so on. just anything i should know before taking it off. it looks real easy im just worried about the actual inside of the engine,

 

You will more than likely need to replace the gasket. and I would try to cover the exposed portion (after VC is off) with a clean piece of plastic to prevent any foreign objects or bugs from getting in there.

 

and how much will a gasket cost? and is it worth it? ha

 

I reused my old gasket and it worked fine.
