Default Vinyl Pin Strip Removal

Greetings all,

I have searched somewhat, but not able to find what I need. If I missed it, I will welcome the link
I have a black 2012 Accord. It has those awful vinyl pin stripes down the sides - just under the windows. I have a heat gun, but it still leaves the glue behind. Then when I use some automotive goo-gone, it is leaving little scratches... plus it takes forever.
Any advice? Am I not letting it get hot enough? Also is there a product for the scratches too? There has to be an easier way.

Thank you!

Perhaps contact a body shop and ask what they use to remove the stripes (?)
Merely a suggestion

Do a google - or something - search on "3m pinstripe removal" and read about those.

Now black and scratches...well that is all kinds of fun and not something I have perfected yet.

My only suggestion since it is a black car is a very, very soft cloth soaked in prep-sol(a body shop solvent - not sure if it's still around), a little elbow grease, take your time, use a finger nail (instead of the cloth)after getting the glue soft with the solvent, keeping the area as small as possible. You may still have to buff the black paint though. Good luck!
