Default '01 radio no sound

Hi all,

I have the 6-disc HU and yesterday when I fired up the car there was an ever so slight pop through the speakers. Now, no audio output. The HU has power, all of the controls work.

Is there an associated amp with HU in the Accord? Anyone else experience this kind of failure? Time for a new HU?

Thanks in advance...

nasty, don't see any blown fuses. The unit itself is powered up, controls all seem to work, just no audio output. Any other suggestions?

most HU have a fuse behind them for the built-in amp.... follow the link and it has instructions for removing the deck so you can troubleshoot it a little easier....

any ide what the fuse size is before I pull it out? I never considered the rear fuse, makes perfect sense...

Update,

The stock HU doesn't have a fuse for the internal amp (great thought though), but I unplugged the unit and plugged it back in, and voila!!! SOUND!!!!

No guarantees it won't happen again, but at least a cheap fix...thanks for the feedback nasty, most appreciated...

if there's no fuse behind it I'm guessing there is a breaker inside that "tripped" and reset when you disconnected power.... sorry I was slightly misleading on the fuse thing I'm not used to stock head units but I'm glad you got it fixed!

Not at all, I'm grateful to you for throwing out the rear fuse idea in the first place, I wouldn't have unplugged and reset the unit. Simple things make me happy after all, even stock head units...
