Default 03-07 Accords with "premium audio"

Just wondering what you 03-07 owners thought about the premium sound system in the ex models, is it good enough to forget about aftermarket?. Also, how hard was it fitting aftermarket 6.5's in the doors?

good enough to forego aftermarket? I dont know.

Better than the standard audio (say in the SE)? Definitely.

the "premium" audio in my 2004 was really actually pretty decent and if youre not that serious about audio you can just keep it stock and itll still sound pretty awesome. i just wanted more bass out of my system i want to say that the stock 6x9's provide plenty of bass.

eh...compared toa well designed aftermarket setup? of course.

but, in the grand scheme of car audio setups, which, face it, the great majority of people leave stock, the premium setup is pretty good.

I had the "premium" system, yet. I didn't notice anything premium about it. Still had crappy soft plastic cone speakers with a magnet the size of a quarter, and the more power it has isn't much. I'm not sure if the 6 cd changer is only part of the premium system or both systems. If it is only on the premium then this is defiantly the only better part.

not sure if my accord has the premium audio - it has the 6 disc changer, and is all leather, etc. anyways, it's sibilant on everything, even on good quality cd's. by the time i cut the treble, the upper range sounds like it's playing from behind a wall.

i can't freakin wait to get a new stereo in this car...

The main difference between a premium and a non-premium unit is the extra attachment on the back of the deck.
From the top of my head, I believe the premium is 180W and non-prem is 120W

Other than that, you can tell if you have a premium unit because it clearly says right on the front of the head unit: "Premium Audio System".

As for the 6-disc feature, it can come in either flavour... in fact, the navigation system can also come in both premium or non-premium.

Hope this answers everyone's questions on this subject.
