The 2004 models did not have backlit steering wheel buttons but they can be retrofitted.

Retrofit would be nice.Is it a direct replacement, with the same wiring?

That part I don't know. A member on another forum I frequent has an '03 and her husband (Honda Master Tech) bought the harness and did the work.

would someone mind telling me how to do this on my 03 accord? the dealer sells the kit which has both switches for audio and cruise together with the harness for about $77 if i remember correctly, but they refuse to do the retrofit for me. would the switches light up if replaced with the new ones without doing the harness swap also? or if not, would the new harness plug into the car's current terminal? is there a danger deploying the airbag while this modification is being done? thank you!
