Hi,

I'm trying to install a USASPEC ipod interface gadget in my 06 SE.

I'm following these directions to get the center console disassembled:

Everything is fine until I get to the two screws holding the console bin in place. The left screw seems to be stripped. It just spins, and wont come out. Some of the threads are obviously engaged because it's holding tight. I'm not sure what can be done here. Perhaps I can cut the screwhead off with a dremel? The tolerances are pretty tight and if I do this it will probably screw up some of the surrounding plastic.

Any ideas?

there is probably a clip that has come loose. most cars use metal clips for the screws to bite into.

it's a tough situation when you can't reach the back of the piece to hold the clip tight.

I would use a drill to remove the head of the screw before i'd cut it off with a dremel. You can control the drill easily.
