I have a 2004 accord with Navi and the screen keeps freezing and rebooting took it to honda they said it needs a new DVD hardrive in the trunk and that its 3400 for the part alone can i just buy it off ebay and swap it out or will i have to calibrate it since the unit will be new

I'm having the same problem with my navi dropping out and resetting all the time. I was told it would be $1500 just to diagnose the problem properly. What I can't stand is that my trip computer and climate controls are tied in with this thing. I will never buy a car with built in navi again. I'll just use my phone.

 

i agree that built-in Nav is a poor idea. i use a $120 TomTom and have no issues. Phones are tricky with the laws in my state. just looking at a phone for any reason will get you pulled over and ticketed.
