I'm a bit new to this but i installed a metra axxess ipod input interface from ebay on my accord two days ago. The problem is now i hear minimal static in the background if the cd-c option is on without the ipod being connected. The static increases if the volume goes up. Does anyone know what may be causing this? The kit was plug and play, i connected it to the open slot underneath the radio.

Should i remove it and connect it to the back of the stereo? Please help!

 

the noise is probably due to the kit you purchased being noisy or it may be bad. Did you get the AIP-HD03-ID or IXA-01? did you connect it to the CD Changer input on the rear of the radio? do you get a signal from it with the ipod plugged in?

any option to ground it to the radio grounding point? the installation instruction available on the Axxess website are pitiful.

ebay is always a risk. it may just be a bad unit which is why it was on ebay.

i typically recommend pac-audio devices. buy authorized so you get the warranty (i'd just buy direct from pac-audio's website).
