Default 2011 Accord Coupe aftermarket stereo question.

New Accord owner, got the premium stereo package and not happy with the sound. My question is will just replacing the speakers be enough to clean up the distortion at high volume or do I need to replace head unit? If I need to replace the head unit, can someone provide a link to the stereo trim panel replacement kit so it has a factory look? Thanks.

Ya, same boat here.

No, just doing the speakers alone will not fix the problem. You will also need to upgrade the amplification driving the new speakers. The head unit is adequate, so replacing that is not necessary.

So to do factory replacement look around for:
1 pr 6.5" seperates for the front
1 pr 6.5" for the back
1 8" sub
1 4-channel amp for the speakers
1 mono amp for the sub

You might want to ad an EQ or processor of some kind for tuning.

That should give a ballpark of what the hardware will cost, then figure in installation. That should get you into the neighborhood of the needed budget.

Yes thanks for the info! I was just about to change out my head unit & get a dash kit as my first step to upgrading this mediocre sound system, and I'm super glad I came across this first; you probably just saved me a decent amt if time AND money
