I bought two led strips to instal under the dash, and I used an add-a-fuse to connect them to the interior lights fuse in the engine bay. However unlike the interior lights that turn on when the car is unlocked, and dim out as the door is closed, these strips simply stay on forever. Does anyone know of a fuse I can tap into that will allow these strips to turn on when the car is unlocked and dim out when the doors are closed? I have it wired to accessory too, and I have a switch to alternate between the accessory connection and this desired connection. But I want them to ALWAYS come on when entering the car and then I can choose to keep them on via accessory/ switch. Any help is much appreciated.

 

There is more to the circuit than just a fuse. You bypassed the controller. Simply wire them in parallel with one of the interior lights that behave the way you want,
