I have a couple of DVD-A's.. 5.1 audio. I know late Acuras are able to play them with Navigation. However, I own the non-navi Honda. And I am not even sure if the Navi edition supports DVD-A's or not.

My question is, is there any mod/replacement module I can put that will allow me to either push 5.1 DTS (Dolby Digital) or play DVD-As?

nope. has to be inherent in the head unit, not an add-on feature.

 

Dang so my only option is to yank out that entire head unit and replace it with one of those JVC/Alpine kits?
