Default how to fix your 91-93 clock

If your clock is giving you trouble like light not working or time always resetting and your fed up then here's a possible fix.
1)pry out clock from the front with a flat blade screw driver, try not to rip the dash board. it may need a little muscle and make sure the left side comes out first cause the electric connector is on the right. disconnect and take to your work area.
2)unscrew 4 small phillips head screws and disassemble the clock. there are a lot small pieces that may fall out including dead bugs. try to remember how it all goes back in, its like a mini puzzle or keep the face of the clock facing down at all times and they won't fall out.
3)remove the back of the clock and the metal clips that hold the clock in the dash. and carefully seperate the clock circuit board from the black plastic backing plate.
4)carefully check the circuit board for blown circuits, hopefully there all good and procede to the fix. the 4 solder joint that connect the 4 prong connector is the weak link(red circle). with your now hot soldering iron desolder the joint by holding it up facing down and let gravity suck the solder to the iron, put the circiut board down face up and resolder the joint. repeat with the other ones.
5)put everything back together (open the front control door and check all the buttons before you put the clock back in), plug in the connector, put the right side of the clock back into the dash first and push till flush with dash. turn on ignition and reset clock.
I have done this fix on my 93 accord and my mom's 91 so it probably is a common problem hope the real important solders don't fail.
Happy trails Dean 93accord
