Default The AUX question - 04 type-S

I have an 04 Accord type-s that had dual aircon. There is an AUX button on the pannel but pressing it has no effect.

Is it possible to ad an AUX input ?

I do not have the multichanger(although disc +&- buttons are on pannel)

Thanks for helping

I did read that post but it didn't mean a lot. I don't even know what an XM radio is!

While I am here. How would I get the bottom cubbie (or whatever it was called) out so I can look for somewhere to plug in a cable ?

Well the EUDM accord is "our" acura TSX, both cars have different HU's so they may use different interfaces. But in the USDM accords there is a single plug on the bottom of the HU, where you can plug in either the OEM satellite radio or an external CD changer. If you don't have either satellite radio or an external CD changer than that plug is open. So you would just plug the interface into that plug, then connect your source to the interface. And this was all covered in the thread my03accord was talking about, and has been covered countless times before.

You make it sound so easy.

Over here things are a bit different, nobody knows nuffin. First a top car audio shop asked me loads of stuff about my car and the head unit fitted but told me there was nothing they could do for me. I took the car to a shop and pointed out the empty socked under the head unit and they said I should seek out a specialised jap car shop. Then the local Honda dealer tells me that there are a few options and point me toward a local car audio shop. This shop cant tell me ANYTHING over the phone, I have to book an appointment where they will remove the head unit and tell me if they can add anything onto it.

Its becoming a nightmare.
I know my job. I know what you can and cant do with any of the machines I have, and have NOT worked on. Its almost like Honda do not exist in the UK as I cant find an audio specialist who knows anything about my audio options. If the medical profession were as usefull we would be dropping like flies.

Hmmmmmm lots of reading and still not looking good.
I have been looking through install guides for Isimple & DICE products and they both show the connection made at the back of the head unit.

My connectors are under, at the bottom. I have not seen anything about this connector yet. Why didn't I buy a Ford, they have an AUX input in the glove box ?

t00fatt - can you give me a link to a seller of this AUX input cable that fits the connector in the base ?

Well like I said before all I know is about the units in our "accords" your accord has a totally different dash and head unit. So really I don't know, I'm not very familiar with stock units to begin with, as they are garbage for quality audio. Your accord is "our" acura TSX, so you may find more accurate info searching for a TSX. I doubt the dash is much different with the the driver side on the right side. But I really don't know, you may even be better off looking at acura forums. There are a lot more TSX's over here getting cutom stuff done, than EUDM accords on the other side of the pond.

Good point. I would like to take a look at one of these cables that you talk about so if you know where I could find one ........ it would be great.
