Can my standard headunit be changed?
Im from Uk (England) and own a Honda Accord CL7.
I was wondering if it is possible to change the headunit. Im assumingthat thewhole dash would need to be removed? Am iright in saying this?
Let me know
Thanks

RE: Can my standard headunit be changed?
A quick answer to your question is yes, the headunit can be changed.
You do not have to remove the dash. The old unit comes out, and the new unit goes in place of the old unit. If you buy online, you should buy from a place (such as crutchfield) that will give you an installation kit with instuctions. I replaced one on one of my Mustangs by myselfwhen I was 16 years old.

on the newer accords the dash does need to be removed, as well as a dash kit replaced if you want it to house in the existing dash location the OEM headunit sits... otherwise there is a bay kit you can buy but imo looks tacky.
all options are detailed in this thread: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/m_73427/tm.htm
you can also check the gallery link in my SIG (not on the profile section of HAF, I haven't uploaded all my images as of yet) to see my installed radio..
It took me literally 30-45 minutes to do the entire swap, most of it was soldering the new wiring harness.
