Car stereo question
My cassette player keeps on switching back and forth all of sudden since last week. I cant get any cassettes to work on it. So I wanted to switch it for with a different stereo. I have a 97 accord dx. I found a stereo for a 92-95 Honda Civic. Will that be a direct fit, or will it not work?
thanks

you can make any radio work pretty much it’s all in the wiring and how it fits in your dash. I’d say go for it..cus I was gonna do the same thing I had a ej8 radio I wanna gonna swap in my cb7 b/c it would have look\ed supper clean and OEM-ish. But I have to have a cd playr and this one was only a radio and thats all.

but this radio comes with no instructions
Will it be plug and play if its from a civic or will I have to mess around with the wires. As the radio I see on ebay has no manual so I have no idea what wires goto where. Also where is a good place to find out how to take out the original radio from my accord?
thanks

a Haynes manual can tell you how to remove the factory radio, and also give you the wiring diagrams.
the radio harness should be the same, but it might not be a direct fit (though most of them were a single DIN size back then - the mounting brackets may be different). I recommend just buying an aftermarket tape deck (with Metra 70-1720 harness adapter) if you require cassette playback and cannot find a same year/model replacement.

found wiring diagrams but.....
I found the wiring diagrams for my car, however, none of them include the factory cd changer that is in my trunk. How do I then know which wires from the leftover wires go where?

the changer typically has it's own plug, separate from the normal stereo wiring. is the factory harness cut off?
if you want the CD changer to work - i recommend getting an exact replacement.
