I have a 2006 Honda Accord.....recently the CD player wont read discs...I get the" DISC" MESSAGE.....eventually after turning the player on or off for a while it plays the disc.....tried cd cleaning disc...etc...my feeling is it has to be taken out cleaned and serviced....

help?

 

are the cds burned?

 

Yes....but I've had little trouble playing burned cd's in the past...
any suggestions

 

Have you tried putting in a legit CD instead of a burned one to see if it works? If it doesn't we can continue from their on.

 

my car did the same thing with burned cds for about a year. then it went out completely.

 

think I may have solved the problem......was using recently CDRW blanks to burn discs..my understanding is auto cd players can't read these...so I tried burning using a CD-R blank....plays fine.......

can anyone confirm this could have been the problem

 

if it didnt work then and it works now it sounds like it could possibly have been the problem.
