So soldering is not one of my skills, can I crimp RCA's or does it HAVE to be soldered? Also, this will give me my voice guidance back correct? Also, is it best to start from the back of the hu or just splice into the speaker wire by the doors?

Best behind the HU. Minimize wire length,

There are some RCA connectors that use set screws instead of solder. MCM Electronics sells them. You just need to be very careful to now get a short.

There are other adapters that have male RCA plugs with speaker wires. Made to do just what you want,

Right, I did see something Radio Shack sells that is RCA on one end, and open wire on the other. So if I go behind the HU, am I connecting right into the harness, or splicing into the existing factory wires? Also, I know people say connect before the stock amp, is there even a stock amp or is it built into the navi?

This??

if you use the 70-1721 and 71-1721 harnesses, you don't need to cut any factory wiring. we have to assume the Navi signal is in the front speakers only.

Sorry to ask so many questions. Just wanted to know how difficult it is to install these harnesses. I will order them today as long as its something a noobie such as myself can handle.

they just plug into the factory harnesses. then you have wires you can interface with for power, ground, remote, and speaker levels.

Ok, just ordered the harnesses. So being that I will be behind the HU, does it make sense to run wire from the HU to the sub amp instead of the way its currently connected, being spliced in from the rear speakers using the LOC?

eh, the wire is already there, it won't make any difference to leave it or change it.

Gotcha.

So just to be clear, Im connecting these two harnesses together, one end goes to radio, other to factory harness. Where do I add the new speaker/rca cables? Where on the harness exactly do I connect them? I assume I have to disconnect the stock speaker wires as well, correct?
