I went with an alpine again. I had a cd changer and mp3 cd player with them already and liked it, so I stuck with them. I got the CDE-9852 $175.xx installed at bestbuy. Big improvement over the JVC. I think it had a jvc bc whoever owned the car before me put after market speakers and tweeters in the car. He/she probably kept the deck and the dealer put a cheapo jvc to fill it in. Big improvement so for with sound and power. Thanks for all your advice guys. Much appreciated.

Just curious anybody have the ipod connector to their deck? I don't really like the idea of controlling the ipod from the deck seems difficult to me, but is it really?

sounds like you made a good decision! As long as you're happy with it that's cool since you're the one who has to listen to it all the time *L*, Sorry no Ipod for me....

nah man, get a line input, then you can just plug the cord into the top of the ipod. its much easier, i have the 60gig, and controlling 60 gigs through my headunit would suck.

After thinking about it I'd have to agree that unless you had some pretty innovative controls scrolling through a few thousand songs would leave you spending more time looking and less time listening.... guess I'd never considered that....

My radio has the input at the bottom right as you can see in the picture. But since your doesnt, either get an FM transmitter (good quaity one) or do as the others say and get a input installed. I think those are around $30 @ best buy
