Default Factory Navigation system upgrade?

All,
My wife has a 2005 Honda Accord LX with just a basic factory audio system. I was hoping by now that there would have been a decent radio mounting kit for this car so I could put in an aftermarket navigation/radio/dvd system. I've heard the one from METRA has given people problems with the AC and Fan buttons.

My question is does anyone know if I purchase an OEM Navigation system will I be able to install it on my vehicle? What I'm referring to is the connections in back of the radio and AC unit. Are they the same? I know the Models with Navi have dual temp settings which mine does not.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

No to the OEM swap, mostly due to climate control conflicts. Also, Honda NAVI is poorly rated, I have only heard complaints.

There are some cheap Asian aftermarket double DIN but navi from Asia is usually sketchy.

Garmin NAVI is great and you can mold it into the dash for an OEM look. Most people just put the aftermarket in the pocket below the radio and they sell kits for just that. Integrated head units are a PITA, especially when they aren't that good to begin with.

There is no easy answer. There are compromises for each option.
