Can I use the factory antenna with an aftermarket headunit or will I have to use the antenna that is specific to the aftermarket headunit I install? Thanks for any help.

 

aftermarket radio= yes
satellite radio=no.

 

you cannot reuse the factory sat radio antenna with aftermarket sat radio systems. there may be a specific adapter for this purpose, but i have not seen it.

i think it is frustrating that companies don't standardize sat radio antenna connections and specs.
