Default Flip up screen in lower cubby - 03 EX

I want to install the lower harness kit in my 03 accord EX and then install a single din dvd player. My question is this: Does anyone know if there will be room for the screen to flip up all the way or will the volume **** and stereo block it?

If this is a repeat question, I'm sorry and please refer me to the right thread.

This forum is awesome.

havent heard that question before...i would think it would flip open, but you may not be able to angle it up enough to see it.

Yea, thats what I'm worried about. I want to be able to angle it up enough to get a good view. Has anyone seen this done and know if it the screen is able to angle up enough?

[align=left]I found two accords that did this. The first one doesn't flip up enough for me, but the second one is pretty cool.

Does anyone know the difference between these two?

not most people do the flip screen in the cubby, but they mold one in there so that when it operates, it doesnt get in the way of the shifter when it turns on and off.

These should work now. Either click on them (if possible) or just copy/paste them

If you look closely at the second one the whole unit isn't seated all the way in, it sticks out a bit. I think that's where your extra angle/clearance is coming from.

I have a flip out installed in the Metra kit that replaces the stock HU. I also have the lower kit installed for a project I will reveal soon. But a flip out won't work in that kit, the screen will hit the a/c control buttons. If you modded the kit so the HU would mount a inch or so out it should work like that guys. I recommend getting rid of the stock HU entirely, if your not going to use it it's just wasted space. It also looks much better with out the stock HU.

i think i may have screwed up my factory HU so i might end up having to get that metra kit sometime but does it work on the cars with dual climate control?
