Help replacing the tweeters on a 2003
I'd like to upgrade my factory speakers with aftermarket good stuff. Should I be able to buy component speakers for the front and have the tweeters fit in the stock spot or would I need to do some sort of modification to the stock area?

Please post your year/model/trim/engine in your sig. If your car has tweeters already you should be able to replace them, if not I don't believe it's too hard to install them into the door panel.

if you go to www.crutchfield.com, then click out "outfit my car" it will tell you all the speakers that can fit in your factory locations. As far as brands go, i would suggest spending the extra money and getting a name brand such as Infinity, Polk, Memphis (there are many others). Its all about the sound that you like. Just don't waste your money on junky ones, you just wont be happy in the end.
I honestly dont know what is involved in installing in the dash location. I have an 05 and i replaced the speakers in the doors and rear deck myself, but i left the tweeters alone. I would only suggest going about the tweeter replacement if you really want to, and are an audiophile. I didnt think it would be worth it for my tastes. You might be better off keeping the factory tweeters and getting a nice 2 way 5.25's for the doors.
