Default JL 10w6v2 box

Ive built two boxes for this thing and it doesn't sound worth a damn. Now I've got it in one of those ported prefab boxes. It sounds better but I know it can do more. I've always been partial to sealed boxes but this ported one sounds decent. I'm looking for a good number on air space so I can stop wasting my time building any more that don't sound right. I'm pushing it with a 500/1.

JL's website gives detailed instructions on building a box for the sub, have you looked there?

I built the sealed box they recommend and even built a bigger one. About .6 and the other was .9. The prefab I have it in now is just over .9 and it's slot ported. I'm thinking of trying 1.25 ported. Why not huh?

sub performance is strongly influenced by the environment.

what vehicle? pics of the sub box locations you've tried?

also what amp are you pushing it with. while the box is a big deal, if you dont have the power, then you dont have the power. a 500 watt boss and a 500 watt kicker are not the same thing.

It's in an '05 Coupe. I've had it behind the seat forward and backwards. I want to keep the trunk space. What do you think of a baffle setup? Make my trunk look clean. Never done it before and don't know how it sounds.

Behind the seat is the worst location, forward or back. Try one side of the rear corner.
