started working on my rear deck yesterday. I figured it would be cheaper than my doors and since I am broke right now, I am doing it first.

I bought this stuff called plastic canvas to make the stensil. It worked reall well. It was flexible enough that I could get accurate shaping around the stuff on my rear deck but solid enough that when I lay it out on the mdf to cut it should be the correct size and not stretch or distort shape.

I also drew up some baffles in autocad. they have a 1/4 inch raised lip all the way around to mount the fabric too. hopefully giving in an inset look. I am going to put vynl on the inside. I think this should give a brighter color than painting the mdf.

I think it is all coming out monday. New box, more air space, more port area. New amp placement, possibly another battery. Then the deck then the doors. That is the plan. I will keep yall updated.

that's the way it goes. get it finished then change it. if it wasn't so cold now (in the teens) i would have already pulled my interior to rewire the car and rebuild my kicks.

this is what my goal is. bass amps beside the box hidden behind the pannel. when I upgrade the highs amp it will go on the wall horrizontal facing out. this would give me a little bit of room to put stuff in the trunk.

just a wee bit of trunk space. nice.

if you go IB, you get your whole trunk back...

145 is totally doable with IB - there so much less resistance to cone movement. besides, your trunk is basically a box now anyway, seal it up and use it as an enclosure.

The new box.

Also because of the way this box sits in the trunk, I need to change the latch to lay down the back seat. I am thinking a push button solenoid.
does anyone know if this is the type of solenoid I would need?
