Pretty much all the mainstream brands will be about the same. Pretty solid quality and will cleanly meet their ratings.
I have always been partial to MTX amps myself. Those things are built like tanks and usually FAR exceed their ratings cleanly. Rockford Fosgate will also easily exceed their ratings but I trust MTX's build quality more. Kicker is about middle of the road. Theyll easily meet their ratings but wont outdo them by much and while theyre built well theyre not in the same league as MTX. Same with Alpine. |
Any experience with alpines new PDX line? I'm in love with the marine one I have on my boat. It's the first full range digital amp I've ever heard.
EDIT: And if you thought the acoustics of a car is bad, wait until you hear a boat. Imaging is nearly impossible |
So i found an alpine amp on sale at a local stereo shop. See the link below
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500MRPF...ures_and_specs note i will be running my infinity speakers at 2 ohms, as they are 2 ohm speakers What do you guys think?? And this amp wont kill my battery will it because im on totally stock electricals and dont want to upgrade it |
That amp will suit you just fine, especially if the price right. Alpine makes some good amps.
Ok great!! And It will be ok on my stock electricals?? Keep in mind I actually have a 2003 4cyl accord battery in my 2002 accord, which is actually smaller than what my stock battery was.
Then all you need to do is up-grade to the higher cold cranking battery and you should be alright!
do you have another amp for subs? if not, then i wouldnt be too worried.
so basically that amp will kill my slightly smaller 2003 accord battery??
Unless your alt is on it's way out you'll be fine with that smaller battery. A bigger battery would give you a bit more room to play with if your going to be drawing close to the max amps of the alt. If that is your only amp then I wouldn't be worried at all.
yes that will be my one and only amp as I don't have subs... And I don't plan on cranking the volume all the time... Also, there are 2 fuses on that amp and they are 25 amps. I shoulnt be worried?? Just checking. better to check with you guys than to be sorry i know you guys know far more than me and i appreciate all the help btw.
