I'm sorry but I really don't believe your any such thing, unless your trying to fancy up an installers name. Unless you are in R/D, repairs, or setting up acoustics, what else involves speakers that would require a specialist? You defianlty have no understanding of getting a proper acoustical set up if you think reverse polarity will cause a speaker to distort. I'm sorry if I seem mean, but I just call them as I see them. I THINK your a just a young kid who thinks he knows what he is talking about because he installed his own system(EDIT: Well in your case installed other people installs with finishing in mind not acoustics). There is a lot of technical info that you don't know, and you have made it completely obvious in your many sporadic posts you have made in the past 24hrs. I'm by no means an expert, but I have a pretty good understanding of the basics. The basics to me is not the basics to you or anyone else that has spoken up here, Macleod of course is the exception to that. Acoustics is far more completed than any kind of engine, it almost takes a degree to fully understand sound.

I workded for best buyas a speaker installer i have experienjce i didnt mean to tell him to install it under the seat i meat to mount it to the back of the seat. sorry for the confusing im 23 years old and i have done many installs probably around 100 so u cant sit there and say i dont know anything and im not some kid that doesnt know anything and install my own stuff which i am capable of. so dont sit there and tell me im just a kid who doesnt know sttuff because i do. i mean no disrespect i just feel like your disrepecting me by telling me i am just some kid that does my own stuff i worked for best buy and have years of experience so i think maybe your talking about other kids cause i do know my **** man im not some dumbass

Dude best buy is the worst install place. What I am saying is, yes you obviously know how to install a system, but your expertise ends there. A working system does not mean it is properly set up. You have to take into account imaging, and tonal balance. Which is not your job to do anyways. There is a lot about sound you don't know. If you like to argue about that I would love to, it's obviously the only way you'll accept you don't know anything beyond installing, if you are not completely ignorant of course which you don't seem to be. I have proven here time and time agian that I only talk when I know what I'm talking about. I may not be an expert but I try my best to not give bad advice.

Hey guys - usually use a different accord forum, but decided to join when I saw this post almost exactly fits what I'm doing...

Finally replaced my 2005 LX stock speakers. Got 50w rms co-axial Kickers for the front and 90rms Kickers for the rear off Crutchfield. Hooked them up to the stock head unit - and bleh....finding no where near enough power to move the speakers (especially the rear 6x9's) and make any kind of decent bass waves...(Although - what a difference already in the mids and highs)

Questions:

If I'm going to amp (which it looks like I need to do)...

1. Would a 65 rms x4 @4ohm amp be enough to move the rears well?

2. Is it worth getting a different set of 6.5 for the front that are rated closer to the rears?

3. Where do you suggest mounting the amp? I have my satellite radio mounted and hard wired in the flip door storage area - but pretty much stock setup everywhere else. I'm trying to keep it as close to the head unit as I can so that I can just use stock wiring...

4. I'm thinking of cutting off the stock, built-in tweeters. Think these are worth replacing? Especially with the mids/highs sound so much clearer now?

In short, 65w will be just fine with those rears, your never going to get the bass I think your expecting from those speakers. More power will make them brighter, cleaner, and increase bass output. They still won't be "bassy", most after market speakers are designed with a sub in mind.

Do not use the stock wiring, it is only a bit more work to do it right. It only takes an extra 45 minutes for something your going to have to live with. Install the amp in the trunk, preferably not mounted to the backseat, and run your power and front speaker wires down one side, and your RCAs down the opposite side. Look up a tutorial for your specific year, they're all over the net.

After you amp them if it sounds too bright or the stock tweeters distort disconnect them. I would try and see how it sounds since your tweeters are stuck behind the door panel at your feet.

Not looking for big bass - but sad to say - my stock speakers blow these out of the water right now - as is - un amped...

Well, If I'm going to place the amp in the trunk, I could easily wire to the rears - just not sure - without looking up - what's entailed to re-run wires to my door speakers (did this years ago in my old ford thunderbird - total pain in the...) Also - would have to run 4 wires to amp - and 2 back to front - unless I buy a hot to line level converter...

I was honestly thinking of going under the driver seat - above the floor vent - I'll have to look in the trunk to see if I can find a place for it that's out of the way. Not likely I can just mount to bottom of trunk - fill it up quite often.

I'll have to check on the tweeters - even before I replaced the speakers, they sounded like they were distorting/cracked. When I isolated them and listened to them with the front door speakers out - they were barely putting anything out. but - thanks for the advice on them - I'll have to see.

You don't think the 50rms on 65rms vs 90rms on 65 rms will be too back balanced?
