PE even has a stand alone set of Pioneer tweeters that would be better than the Hertz ESK.

Builder is giving me these specs for the box:

2.25 @ 33 Hz
17 deep
17 tall
28.75 wide

Hopefully that sucks fits. Looks like I'm going to need a battery in the back as well. Anyone know what the stock 2009 Accord Sedan 4cyl alternator is? 90amps?

17" is tall, maybe too tall depending on where it is in the trunk

He's changing the box specs to be a tad shorter, some less length so it doesn't interfere with the wheel wells, and a good amount deeper. I was thinking about going with the Hertz HSK 3-way instead as I hear they're solid and the tweeter isn't nearly as bright as the ESK. I planned on taking your advice and completely removing the rears, but after playing with the fader it just feels so full with the rears there atm. You think I wont miss them once I have solid mids and much stronger bass? I want to decide before I purchase an amp for the mids.

Start with everything else. You can add rears later, but remember you have to enclose them.

I listened to Hertz HSK and Audison VOCE speakers yesterday at AMS in Madison WI. great shop with good installers for anyone interested. Very nice speakers. The HSK-165XL were great.

Yeah, I didn't realize the HSK model has changed in the past 2 years or so. Originally I thought they would simply be $60 more than the ESK, but I was just quoted for around $700.

For now, I might just go with the HSK165 instead of the ESK 3-way. There isn't really anywhere to mount the 4" speaker. If I were to have the shop form some kind of kick panel enclosure I think it would block the dead pedal on the driver's side.

Just purchased an SAX-125.2 for $200 for the speakers. Also, I should be able to use my 4awg Streetwires kit for it. Think it would be advised to replace the speaker wire?

12awg wire is great. 14awg wire is ok. If the wire is in good shape, just reterminate the wires.

So how many feet of 12awg speaker wire would you figure?

Also, I need to purchase RCAs for the sub amp if the mid amp will be utilizing my old 4awg kit. Any standalone RCAs you'd recommend? Around 10 feet should be enough, no?

if you are going to pull up your carpet and run straight back 10 feet should be enough. if you are going to go from your center over to one side of the car and back to the trunk you will probably need more that 10 feet.

knukonceptz.com is where i get all of my wire. they make an exceptional wire for a really good price. all of it is true sized and it is the most flexible wire i have ever worked with.

10 feet won't be enough to reach the front door speakers. I want 20 feet per front speaker for planning. I just wired a 2005 scion tC. We had plenty of extra wire but that was the plan. We didn't want to be short, we bout a 250ft roll of 12awg. check the build

The length depends on the amp location, crossover locations, wire routing, and speaker locations. Measure along the routing, add 6" at each connection, add 20%. Do this for each speaker.
